Do we get enough sun in the UK for a solar panel system?

It is a misconception that there is not enough sun in the UK for a solar pv system. The best locations are in the South West of England, but with continual improvement in solar panel technology, all of the South of England & Wales, and parts of the Midlands may be suitable.

Why is the company called Due South Energy?

To maximise the performance of solar pv systems all solar panels must be facing due south.

Will I get planning permission to install a solar pv system on my roof?

Due South Energy will carry out an initial feasibility assessment to see if your property may be suitable for a roof based solar pv system. Many local authorities do look favourably on developing renewable energy sources, especially environmentally low impact solar panel systems.

Will you install solar pv systems on residential properties?

We only offer solar pv sytems for commercial properties, but can recommend the Verdi Group (www.verdigroup.co.uk), who will be able to help.

What about the glare from the solar panels?

This may have been true in the past, however the latest photovoltaic technology means very little energy is lost through reflection. Any glare is minimised through using transluscent coating materials to improve light transmittance through glass.
